A late 17th Century / early 18th Century English antique wrought iron grisset pan used to melt mutton fat over the fire.

Rushes would be drawn through it and coated in mutton fat.  They were then lit and used as tapers and placed in the jaws of a rushlight to produce light.
This is a must for any rushlight collector!
Condition - the wrought iron has surface pitting and wear to the front supporting foot as per the images.

Size: Length 30 cm x Width 25 cm (12" x 10")
