Made by a sailor to whileaway time whilst at sea, this decorative piece of treen has been formed by hand in to a seam rubber.
Seam rubbers were used to smooth the seams sewn into sheets of sail canvas.
With a carved finial, inscribed with the letters "P" and "WP", over a plain stem terminating in a wedge shaped rubber.
Provenance - Unknown
