A lovely mid-18th Century antique carved treen Pocket Watch Stand in the Rococo manner, circa 1740, with a superb patinated surface.
The pediment is carved with a putto flanked by elaborate and heavily carved scroll-work, with a watch aperture below. Further scroll-work and fruit and foliage is repeated below. Supported overall on a base of quadrilateral form decorated with scratch-carved detailed and moulded edge.
Provenance - Unknown.
Condition - Good as per the images. The base has a very minor loss to a rear corner (please refer to the images). A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
Size - Height 34.5 cm x Width 18 cm x Depth 9.5 cm (13 5/8" x 7 1/8" x 3 3/4")
